Paul Steklenski used to work in the US Army, and when he retired, he focused his energy on his love for dogs. He was an advocate, and he wanted to help as many dogs as he can. This all started when he adopted a dog, his very first – Tessa, a homeless dog.
This prompted him to see the beautiful effect that it had on the dog.
This made Paul think that it was time to work on his advocacy full time. His goal is to try and save as many animals as he can from kill shelters. He also wants to make sure that people put an end to kill shelters. He believes that kill shelters are inhumane, and dogs deserve the best in life as humans do.
To be able to save many dogs, Paul thought that buying a plane would help him do that. He can travel faster, get to more kill shelters, and save more dogs. It was going to be expensive, but he really did not mind because he was doing it for a good thing.
To purchase the plane, Paul used his own savings that he had put aside through the years that he had been working. He also got some help from friends who believed in his advocacy. Paul was able to purchase the plane and started on his goals.
When Paul visited a kill shelter, he would then negotiate with the owners so that he could adopt all of the dogs there. When he is able to do that, he would take the dogs to a place that was safe for them. He would also find people who would adopt them.
When Paul was just starting, the whole thing was not an easy thing to do. He also had to deal with a lot of various types of dogs and different histories. But Paul kept on, and he even became stronger with the huge support he was getting from the people close to him.
