We once believed that dogs and cats could never be friends. But with all the canine-feline friendship stories sprawling over the internet nowadays, it is safe to say that they can be best pals if given a chance. This story of Polly and Paxton from Delaware is no exception.
Paxton is a twelve-year-old Lab living with his fur mom, Morgan McKenzie. Just like any Labradors, Paxton is a lovable and outgoing pooch. He loves making new friends and enjoys being surrounded with attention and love.
But Morgan didn’t expect that he would be very accommodating when one day, she brought home a tiny kitten. She found the kitty inside a log within her property. She was about a day old or two and looked like she was waiting for her mom.
Thinking that the mama cat would come and pick her up later that day, Morgan went about her business and left the kitty in the log. However, when she came back to check on her, the tiny kitty was still there, crying out for help. That was when she decided to adopt the poor cat finally.
She named her Polly, as in Polly Pocket, since she was so small she could fit in a pocket. Morgan bathed her, as well, to remove all the fleas covering her thin fur. After the refreshing shower, she introduced the new family member to Paxton.
The Lab was delighted to have a new playmate, to say the least. He instantly took to her and begun licking her clean, as if treating her like his own. Thankfully, Polly enjoyed the attention as well, and since then, they had become inseparable.
Paxton was there when Polly needed help getting used to the house. Over the past months, they became best friends and would hang out every day. Watch their adorable friendship here.
