Most dogs have their best friends, or at least their favorite person or object. It could be any one of your family, your neighbors, or other creatures. It can also even be a toy. But have you ever quite heard of a dog with a brick for a best friend?
Apparently, there is, and he is a one-year-old rescue dog named Sunny. He adores his brick and spends a lot of time with it each day. And when his mom posted photos of Sunny and his friend on Twitter, they immediately became viral.
Weigh down the carpet
Sunny, along with his mom and siblings, were homeless dogs that were found on the streets and taken to a shelter. Ariana Smoak, Sunny’s owner, said that she took them and became their foster. When she first found them, they were so thin, dirty, and full of fleas. But eventually, they started to become healthier and more active.
One by one, they got adopted, but she decided to keep Sunny. She just fell in love with the sweet and gentle dog.
Sunny’s friendship with the brick started out as a very ordinary story. Ariana brought the brick inside the house to weigh down the edge of the carpet to keep it from curling. One day, Sunny, who was still a puppy then, found the brick and started gnawing on it. He would then play with it by trying to push it, but it was too heavy.
He probably got tired then slept beside it. From then, he would do the same routine every day, always ending up with him sleeping by the brick. When he grew bigger, the brick became his headrest.
The carpet weight was supposed to be a temporary solution. But because of the dog’s fondness for it, Ariana doesn’t dare remove it from their home.
