Have you ever felt that weird feeling of already knowing someone even if you’ve just met? It’s like your souls recognize each other, and you share a connection so deep, but you can’t explain when or how it started. The idea sounds silly, but a lot of people have experienced this.
The majority of those who already went through I-feel-like-I-know-you scenarios experienced it with friends and partners. Some, however, had that feeling when the first time they were introduced to some family members. Such is the case of two dogs who were reunited years after they were separated at birth.
That familiar feeling
Two years ago, Walela Nehanda shared the story about how Louie, her family’s dog, recognized his brother. The pooch was going about his afternoon walk when he suddenly “stopped dead in his tracks.” When his owner looked around to see what caused this, all she could see was another dog who looked like Louie.
She approached the other dog’s owners to talk about what happened. After exchanging information about their pooches, they realized that their dogs were brothers! Both dogs have the same parents, and they came from the same breeder.
The two dogs played around with each other for a bit. To their humans, it seemed like they were exchanging stories about each other’s lives. After a few hours or so, the dogs bid each other goodbye and went home.
We are family
People were quick to like and share Nehanda’s story the moment she shared it on Twitter. Most of them were surprised to know that dogs are also capable of recognizing family regardless of the number of years they’ve been apart.
Other dog owners also shared stories of their pet’s reunion with their long-lost siblings on Nehanda’s thread. Some even uploaded photos of the dogs for more happiness and good vibes!
