Cute Dog Who Can’t Stop Eating Doritos Needs To Go On A Diet

Everyone wants to munch down Doritos because of its cheesy flavor. Even a four-year-old Jack Russell named Skylar couldn’t resist its taste. It’s her go-to snack whenever she’s hungry. However, eating too much Doritos took a toll on Skylar’s weight.

The popular cheesy snack caused her to gain 22 lbs. The owner couldn’t refuse Skylar whenever she begs for food because of her puppy eyes. She weighed more than an average Jack Russell. She was a voracious eater who liked to munch every food in sight.

Skylar even loved to feast on her owner’s dinner, but Doritos was her personal favorite. She could consume the entire bag of Doritos in one sitting. Mandy Hannigan, Skylar’s owner, said that her dog wasn’t overweight when she got her. However, Mandy noticed that Skylar continued to grow as she couldn’t stop eating.

Apart from Skylar, Mandy also owned another dog who was a fussy eater. Skylar’s insatiable appetite for food was one reason she would end up eating the other dog’s food. The lovable pup got her cheesy treats a few times a week. She also liked to eat Hula Hoops, Mini Cheddars, sausages, pickled onions, and much more.

Mandy wasn’t the only one who gave food to Skylar because even her neighbor would give her their meat, cheese, and biscuit leftovers twice a day. Skylar’s overeating caused her to have breathing difficulties. Vets ordered Mandy to feed Skylar with healthier food options.

While Mandy regularly took Skylar for a walk every day, she needed to be more active so she could achieve her goal weight..
Chunky dogs may be adorable, but dog obesity is dangerous due to the many health problems associated with it. Some of the health problems that overweight or obese dogs may experience are high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, skin disease, heart disease, respiratory disease, and many others.
