Reddit user Justin_Grosjean shared a heartwarming photo of his dog, and it became a huge hit. This is because the photo showed how much the dog misses him and his family whenever they are out of the house. The post has racked up more than 45,000 upvotes and has been shared numerous times.
Missing dad
Luna is a three-year-old Miniature Bull Terrier that was adopted by Justin and his wife immediately after they got married. She was the first baby in the house, and she cherished it. Eventually, the couple had kids, and Luna became delighted as her family grew larger.
But despite having lots of people around her every day, she would miss her dad every time he goes out for work, or any other reason.
According to her dad, Luna would take one of his shoes, bring it to her bed, and lie down next to it. Unlike other dogs, she doesn’t play or chews on the shoe. She feels comfort having his scent near her. This calms her nerves down and lets her go to sleep.
But one day, her obsession with her family, and shoes, went up another level.

One day, Luna’s mom had to take the kids somewhere and left the dog with her dad. But then, he had to go Home Depot to pick up something quick. He was gone for only thirty minutes and went straight back home. When he came back, he saw something heartbreaking.
Luna must have panicked that she was left all alone and thought that they were not coming back for her. This time, she didn’t just take her dad’s shoe. She also took the shoes of her other family members and surrounded herself with them.
This is when he took the photo and shared it with others.
Justin explained later on that he thinks Luna acts this way because she appreciates her family so much. She just underwent a stage in her life where she had a life-threatening disease called immune-mediated hemolytic anemia. This causes a dog’s immune system to attack healthy red blood cells.
Many dogs don’t survive this disease, and she is one of the lucky few that did.
